'Content and cheerful'

Dateline: Tue 10 Dec 2013

Some of us, and most of us beyond a certain age, gravitate to the obituaries in the newspaper. I try to read them daily, or scan them.

Favorite obituaries? Actually, it was an "in memoriam" that ran in the Evansville Press years ago. The photo showed a plump, smiling woman, in her 30's, and the legacy was "content and cheerful."

Worse ways to be remembered. It's a little bland, but still....something to aspire to during Advent?

Pffft. You can look in a mirror, but better to look in the soul. The mirror reflects light, but the soul reflects who we are. Better to be, than to be the ideal image of the mirror.

Hey maybe she was! So many people are on so many medicines that it makes them loopy or their going to their psychiatrist on Fridays (a friend who worked as an receptionist in a psychiatrist's office told me Friday is the number one day ) to figure out why they don't like life! So she was content and cheerful! Hell of a way to go!
