Services for Rox

Dateline: Tue 23 Oct 2012

This is from Jenny Morlan at the Indianapolis Star, forwarded by Judy Wolf, formerly a Star copy editor who, like Jenny, worked with Roxanne Morgan.

A memorial service for Roxanne Morgan will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 in The Star’s sixth-floor conference room. A calling will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Steve Morgan requested that the service be held at The Star because of how much Roxanne loved the people she worked with over the years. He said he wanted it to be held some place that wasn’t formal, and he wants people to feel free to dress casually because that is how Roxanne would feel most comfortable. The front entrance will be open for visitors.

An obituary will appear in The Sunday Star and Bobby King is writing A Life Lived feature on Roxanne. Steve has requested that donations be given to the Humane Society and Indy Reads.

Steve would like people to share stories and remembrances during the service. If you like to  speak, please let me know. Steve wants everyone to feel included.

If you have any photographs you would like to share in a slideshow, please email them to Phil Mahoney. If you’d like to have any special songs played, please let Phil know. For example, Roxanne gave Thomas his first CD – the Jackson 5’s greatest hits – and he’s asked that we play ABC and I’ll Be There. I’m sure others of you have songs that make you think of Roxanne. (But no Police!)

After the service, Steve would like people to place roses on Roxanne’s new car, which will be parked behind The Star in one of the old delivery bays.

I need to get the mailing address for the house in Greenwood where Steve is staying. They were in the process of moving there.

He also wanted me to share how much love he is feeling from all of you. Anyone wanting his phone may contact Jenny Morlan or Pete Scott.

Jeff or Kevin are going to share the information about the memorial service with the rest of the staff. Please help spread the word.

Hey this is kinda of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or
if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
