Bad blogger

Dateline: Thu 26 May 2011

Years ago, I started writing because I couldn't hear the sound of my own voice.  Writing, as in working for a newspaper, filled that need, to a certain extent.

But sometimes one's own voice reaches a volume that gets in the way of life. Thus I have taken a deliberate break from the blogging fray, just to concentrate on living life and earning a small income. But as one child said, "You never really stop blogging," and he is so right. Thank you Internet and Interwebs.

My apologies to those of you who stick with me and open this link only to find a post that is dated. I am disappointed that I have disappointed you, and I hope to do better.

Mea culpea.

No apologies necessary, I've always looked at it as a quality vs. quantity thing.

We be faithful. Sometimes a break is good food for the soul.

I will just echo what Jason and hendy already said.

Besides, is letting some anticipation build such a crime?

Absolutely no need for any "mea culpea" expressions, Ruth.

Here's the truth: when you don't post for awhile, I worry about you and if you are healthy and okay. When I saw your posts tonight, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Ruth, everything you do on your blog is "gravy" as far as I'm concerned. But I enjoy it so much because I'm disabled and in failing health and I don't get a lot of opportunities to converse/debate with intelligent, insightful, informed people.

My body doesn't work very well these days, but this blog helps to keep my mind active. And for that, Ruth, I am so thankful to you and to the folks who converse here regularly.

Maybe next time you take a break from here, you could post a couple of lines that you're okay but need a break for awhile so we don't worry about you.

Absolutely acceptable explanation. No worries, Ruthie.

A slight suggestion: if you want to check out for two weeks, post something like this:

"Gone fishin. Nothing wrong. Just fishin."

Then we won't worry.

And remember--grandchildren always trump a silly blog. Well, not that the blog is silly, but you get my drift...

No need for apologies, Ruthie. The blog, unlike the newspaper, doesn't need to be fed each day. I'm just glad that the sound of your voice continues.
