Eastside paper lives

Here is an email re: another paper killed by Gannett, that has new life:

"Wanted to let you know that there is indeed new life on the Eastside of Indy. The old Eastside Herald, a really good community paper went out of business in mid January, in my opinion due to ownership by Gannett and the Indianapolis Star. The four women, Paula Nicewanger, Ethel Winslow, Jeanne Dixon and myself Judy Crawford who put the heart and soul into the East Side Herald, decided to open our own community newspaper, only days after they closed our doors. You know what they say when one door closes...well in this case, we opened the other door! We are the Eastside Voice Community News Media, Inc. and we publish the Eastside Voice Community News. Our first paper went out on March 13th. We have been embraced by the community more than we ever imagined possible. We don't believe print is dead and neither do our readers.

Yes We Can !"

My best to this new venture. I'm sure readers will share the enthusiasm for local news!
