"FORUM ON MORTGAGES AND FORECLOSURE TO BE HELD IN NOBLESVILLE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Susan Barta (317) 517-3127

April 24, 2009

FISHERS – Hamilton County has experienced rapid growth over the last decade, especially in housing purchased by professionals on their way up the corporate ladder. Recent economic downturn therefore has affected many in these home owner communities. Food banks and social service agencies have noticed a substantial increase in request for service.

“I work with foreclosures everyday, and many people could have come out of the process or avoid it altogether if they were pro-active when they started to get into trouble,” Greg Purvis, Senior Associate at Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty, P.C. “They just don’t know what to do.”

As a public service to the Hamilton County community, the Hamilton County Democratic Club and Hamilton East Public Library will be sponsoring a “Forum on Mortgages and Foreclosure”, at the Noblesville Library on May 2nd, starting at 2:00 p.m.

The forum panel will include:
Foreclosure Attorney (represents creditor’s rights) Greg Purvis
Personal Bankruptcy Attorney Portia Douglas
Indiana Housing & Community Dev Authority; David Kaufman or Joe Palus
Foreclosure Counselor Cheryl Shelton, Community Action of Greater Indianapolis

Panel members will give an instruction on the mortgage and foreclosure process, and then the audience will have a chance to ask questions."
