Strange brew: the Dems' Saturday slating

Dateline: Mon 14 Jan 2008

Bil Browning at is getting a lot of traction on his morning posting: "There's something shady going on," regarding how handily Andre Carson won the slating over at the Dems' confab Saturday at Shortridge Middle School. Check it out:

Bil sets the stage for a possible conspiracy theory by talking about how AC was allegedly anointed while his grandmother was on her death bed, but funny, he notes, Rep. Julia Carson never said anything herself when she was able. Instead the "send my seed" line -- how Biblical, how archetypal! -- was reported at the congresswoman's funeral by Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH), Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-MI) and Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, reports Browning.

That, coupled with the messiness of the election process Saturday -- Browning himself was shut out of voting, the eight candidates did not receive the same lists of precinct committee people to contact, after paying their $500 -- it goes on and on -- raises some serious questions.

Read Browning, if you have not already.

Between his experience -- and he's a loyal party man -- and Jen Wagner's registration of a Jon Elrod site, it's no wonder tongues are wagging. (Jen, of course, is the communications director for the state Dems and the author of Taking Down Words blog. See an earlier post here for the latest she's been up to, as first reported on Frugal Hoosiers.)
