Sherri Pfouts: a soft landing at Emmis

Dateline: Mon 07 Jan 2008

Former INTake editor Sherri Pfouts, who worked for the Star since 2005, has taken a job with Emmis Communications.

Here's the sweet scoop from Kate Snedeker at Emmis, announced today:

"Colleagues:

"I'm pleased to introduce Sherri Pfouts as a new Senior Editor for Indy

Monthly. Sherri will take over the Circle City front-of-the-book

section, as well as write and edit on other projects.

"From 2005 through 2007, Pfouts was editor of INtake Weekly, the Star's entertainment publication, and prior to that she worked as an editor at Wiley Publishing, handling a number of the "For Dummies" books.

"She is the author of 'Vicious, Delicious and Ambitious: 20th Century

Women Artists,' a book about Lowbrow Art published by Schiffer

Publishing, and will continue in her role as a freelance assistant

editor for International Tattoo Art magazine. An Indianapolis native,

Pfouts holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University.

"In her spare time, Pfouts is a member of the Naptown Roller Girls,

skating under the moniker 'Touretta Lynn.' She lives in Garfield Park

with her husband, Chris.

"Please join me in welcoming her to Emmis."

Sherri's considerable talents will no doubt shine at Emmis.

She left the Star as Gannett was rolling INTake over to Indy.com, which, I admit, I call Indy.drunk because of all the bar ads, bar pix and bar anecdotes.

But that is another tale for another time.

Best to Sherri.
