WTHR Channel 13 reports on the opening meeting of the City-County Council in Indy tonight, with this interesting aside:

"Another proposal says council attorneys can't represent councilors on private matters. As Aaron Haith did for council president Monroe Gray when he was accused of ethics violations. The proposal is co-sponsored by a Democrat.

"'The purpose is to make clear to the public that we will not even get near a conflict of interest,'" said council member Angela Mansfield."

Mansfield votes her conscience, and she is to be credited with co-sponsoring this proposal. Also, congratulations to the entire City-County Council, both old and new members. They have a full plate.
