A Libertarian on the arts: Ban frogs?

Dateline: Fri 05 Oct 2007

I was more than a little amused by Libertarian mayoral candidate Fred Peterson's assertion last night that Indianapolis does NOT need to bring in out-of-town artists -- the ones from "New York or Los Angeles," he said, questioning WHY the city would go far afield when we have talented artists in our own backyard.

I have to wonder what he must think of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, which now has splendid ancient Roman art from the Louvre on display -- and entertained real live Frenchmen at the gala. From Paris.

C'est la vie in the big city!
