Terri Wall dies

Dateline: Thu 08 Nov 2007

The Star's managing editor Pam Fine sent out this email to Star newsroom/library staff this morning:

"With sadness, I wanted to let you know that longtime Star librarian Terri Wall passed away yesterday. Terri had been battling cancer for about 18 months and had beaten the odds to survive as long as she did.

"She had a great spirit which a lot of people around here admired and counted on.

"Terri leaves behind her husband Dennis and two children, Thomas and

Melanie. Tentative plans are for a calling on Friday and for a memorial

service on Saturday. When final plans are available, we'll let everyone

know.

Terri was remarkable. She started at the paper as a copy messenger, went to college and came back to work in the library. She was a reporter's librarian: she knew a great deal about the city, she attended news meetings as part of her job, and she always had helpful suggestions/tips/contacts. She was a terrific researcher and she helped all of us out time and time again. She also took part in organizing many of the library's fund-raisers and was incredibly generous, sensitive and loving. Like many of us, she had dreams to fulfill; her's was to have children. She adored her kids and her desk was always filled with the latest photos. God bless Terri Wall and her beloved family.
