Cornhole confidential

Dateline: Tue 08 May 2007

Thanks to those readers who brought me up to date on the word cornhole, the upcoming "cornhole event," etc.

As Paul Harvey says, tiresomely, "Now...here's the rest of the story!"

A cornhole (says one source) is a carnival-type game involving tossing corn-filled bags into a hole in a board. Like a beanbag.

Check this out (says the source) -- there are even NCAA-licensed games:

"Durable, Weather Resistant Cornhole Game

HUGE SALE - 20-25% off, always in stock. The only all-weather

cornhole games and corntoss on the market. Lightweight, durable, and

quality. NCAA licensed sets, bags, and scorers.

Wow. I've had kettle korn on the brain -- as a money-making scheme for awakening the sleeping Putnam economy -- and now maybe I can add cornhole events to my repertoire.

"Visit Putnam, where the Kettle Korn queen will sweeten your already huge tummy and the Cornhole Gaming distract you from your woes..."
