Cornhole event

Dateline: Fri 04 May 2007

Oh, my.

The Star, which used to bill itself as a family newspaper, has run a short about an upcoming "Cornhole event" in Brownsburg in its Hendricks County edition Thursday.

Alert reader Dick Hopper, also a former copy editor at the Star, and a historian, and a farmer, and a red-hot lover boy type fond of exposing hypocrisy at any costs or any level, but with a gentleman's velvet touch, unearthed this gem in the Star's west bureau publication. OK, I'm a little naive myself and didn't know that cornhole was a synonym for a--hole and refers to buggery. But it does. There's even a poem....

Do the fine citizens of Hendricks County -- last time I looked, Eric Miller country --- know this? Do Star editors realize what they're promoting? Is somebody having fun at the expense of Gannett journalism? Or is there really a cornhole society? Keep reading this blog for updates....
